Custom Mosaics

Commissions and custom mosaics are my specialty and run the gamut from one-of-a-kind mosaic art (whatever the site calls for: movable panels or a permanent installation), to custom sizing and coloration of existing compositions, to unique mosaic signage or wall murals. I've worked with individual collectors as well as with art consultants and interior designers to bring mosaic art into homes, healthcare settings, and commercial spaces. After browsing my website to become familiar with my materials and style, please contact me to let me know what you have in mind.

The Process
During an initial phone consultation we will discuss the scope of the project, preliminary design concepts, special considerations, and materials. You provide measurements, fabric and/or paint swatches, and photos/renderings of the space. Once I have a clear idea of what you have in mind, I can provide a cost estimate. Most projects require a separate design fee to cover research, and thumbnail sketches or scaled drawings, whichever are appropriate. This fee is not refundable but is applied to the project total once the work is greenlighted.

Portable mosaics come framed and ready to hang. If you are interested in a mosaic that is fixed permanently to the wall, the piece is created in easy-to-handle sections on fiberglass netting. These sections are shipped flat for onsite installation. We will discuss whether a separate installation fee is required; often this step, along with the grouting and finishing, can be handled by your local tile contractor.

Contracts, Payments, and Shipping
I will provide a detailed proposal, cost breakdown, and schedule, along with a contract. You will sign off on the final measurements, design, and materials (color chips can be sent). Once I receive your deposit (one-third to one-half, depending on the size and scope of the project) and signed contract, you are scheduled into the production calendar and will be able to see the work in progress, either in person (if you live close enough to the studio) or via digital photos.

When complete, I deliver or ship your mosaic UPS, insured. The balance is payable prior to shipment, and any shipping charges are billed at cost.
